En Route To Ecuador First Sea Day

Today, we enjoyed a sea day as we are traveling to Guayaquil, Ecuador.

We had an early morning Breakfast on the Lido Deck. We enjoy having breakfast in the Lido Café where the food is served buffet style. Anne Marie usually has a bowl of cereal and fresh fruit and Keith either has a bagel with smoke salmon or a bowl of cereal and fresh fruit as well. The staff on the Lido deck is very friendly and very helpful and most know our names. After breakfast, we went to the Fitness Center where once again Anne Marie worked out on the treadmill and Keith worked out on the Elliptical Machine. We are one of several regulars who are there in the morning. Later in the morning we also took a nice long walk on the Promenade Deck. The weather has continued to be nice and the seas have been very calm.

The first segment of the World Cruise is part of the Crystal Wine and Food Festival so as part of this theme we attended a cooking demonstration at 10:00 AM. Chef Anton Endelmann gave a cooking demonstration. In 2003, Edelmann left the Savoy of London where he served as the longest serving maitre chef des cuisines with responsibility for the Savoy menu to take up the position as Principal Chef of Directors Table in London. This morning with the assistance of Crystal Chef Olliver he prepared two entrees (Black Cod entrée along with a Scallop entrée) that will be featured on tonight’s menu in the main dining room.

Later in the morning we joined our trivia team, Luv 2 Cruise, for our second trivia session. Today, our team finished in a tie for second place. We had very difficult questions to answer, and yes, now we know why they call it trivia.

We had a very nice dinner in the main dining room and Keith ordered the Black Cod and Anne Marie ordered the Scallops. We both enjoyed the entrees. Following dinner we attended a cocktail party that was hosted for the World Cruisers. It provided another opportunity for us to socialize with many of our fellow World Cruisers and to meet the majority of the ships officers.

Tomorrow we have another full day at sea as we make our way to Ecuador. We really enjoy the sea days on the ship as there is so much to do.
